We were happily impressed when 10 year old Ethan came to visit us at Moravian. He brought some of his wonderful art work to show us.
52nd Annual Art Exhibit
The 52nd Annual Art Show at Conference House Park took place on Sunday, June 2, under clear blue skies. Over fifty artists, young and old, participated in the event. A wide variety of art including oil, pastel, watercolor and pen and ink was on display, and the respective artists were happy to speak with visitors about their particular styles.
A big hit, as usual, was the crafts table for children. Children of all ages were able to paint shells or rocks, create foam people, and make fashion dolls, visors, or collage. They were also free to simply do their own thing. The artists were on hand to assist the youngsters in whatever endeavor they chose to pursue. The Fair was enhanced this year by the wonderful paintings of the Pre-K 4 class of the Jewish Community Center on Manor Road. The South Shore Artists hope they will be future members of the group. The Art Show was a spectacular success and all who were present seemed to have had a wonderful time. |

History and Mission of Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child is the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind serving children in need around the world. It involves filling empty shoeboxes, or its equivalent, with a “wow” item such as a doll or soccer ball, other fun toys, school supplies, hygiene items, as well as a note of encouragement to the receiving child between the ages of two and 14. Since inception, Operation Christmas Child has delivered more than 135 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 150 countries and territories around the world. Individuals, families, groups, and churches in four continents (eleven nations) prepare the boxes. These nations are Australia,Austria, Canada, Finland, Germany, Japan, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.November 14-21 is the yearly National Collection Week for this Christmas project. However, shoeboxes can be packed year-round online at samaritanspurse.org/occ Participants can also follow their donated boxes on line to see their final destinations. |
